Summer 2015 News

Writing to a friend of mine today reminds me I have not added anything to my blog in a Long, long time.  I have heard people write books from their blog.  I plan to write after I quit teaching so much.  Not really going to retire, but will cut back in the next few years.  Being over 60 does that to a person.  Ha.
I have been water skiing when I can this summer.  Some friends have  a boat.  It has been a rainy summer, so some Sundays we only get a 2 – 3 hour window before the clouds build up.
I taught three online courses this summer.  Now I can get to some household chores that  ALWAYS seem to get put off until later.   I have “lists for my lists” of things to get done in the summer.  When a person lives in four season climate, there are things that just cannot be done in the wintertime.
My husband and I are going to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon at the end of the August for two days.  We will attempt to hike part of the North Kaibab trail.  It is quite steep so we will see how far we can go always remembering that as far as we go down, that is as far as we have to hike back up!  So now we are in training, although not as much as we should.
At the end of September, we are going on a houseboat for 3 days at Lake Powell.  We did it last year with the same friends I water ski with and had a blast.  My husband does not ski anymore, but loves to pilot the houseboat.  It is so serene there in the mornings and evenings, we just LOVE IT.
I created a Wix.com photography website to show students how easy and simple it can be to have a portfolio. This one is free.  I still need to add captions, but thought you would like to see it.  http://obmary2008.wix.com/photography
A long time friend of mine quit his job after receiving his teaching degree, at 60 years old.  He has decided to move to Vietnam to teach English as a second language for at least a year.  I look forward to him blogging much more than I do at this time.  Feel free to add comments anytime on my blog.  Happy Summer!!!!
